We love robots!
We are onwai, a robotics start up focussing on robot platforms for research, education and application. Our goal is to provide affordable robots that operate in natural environments. We gathered experience from attenting successfully various service robotic competitions like RoboCup@Home, the World Robot Summit, the European Robotics League and various Manipulation Challenges held with flagship robotic conferences like ICRA and IROS.
With Limbo, we plan to make robotics more accessible for a wider audience. The most recent advances in artificial intelligence are already embedded in our robot platforms. Our platforms unify almost a decade of experience gathered in robotics research with a focus out-of-the constrained research laboratories.
We are open for collaboration with various backgrounds in research, education and industry. We are looking forward to hear from you.
Meet Limbo!
Limbo, as in "How low can you go? -- In price" is developed with affordability in mind but still offering basic functionalities for autonomous operation. Limbo is an autonomous service robot that remains affordable for research and education. Limbo has a wide set of basic functionalities for human-robot-interaction, mapping and navigation, as well as perception, already built in. For human-robot-interaction, Limbo is able to synthesize speech and recognize human-spoken commands. A 10-inch touchscreen displays the robot's face, and further allows showing custom user interfaces. Objects in the environment can be recognized with the RGB-D camera. The laser range finder is used for mapping the environment. Once mapped, Limbo is able to autonomously navigate in the environment. Limbo is mostly 3D printed and was developed with modular expandability in mind. Of course, Limbo supports the robot operating system (ROS) and we offer docker images for letting you directly start developing. Equipped with an Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX, as a central embedded computer, the robot is powerful enough to execute various AI models in parallel. An onboard Wi-Fi network streams all sensor data to clients. For an enduring service, Limbo has hot-swappable batteries.
